Sad Birthday Blueyes424: Well, I never thought another birthday would be sucky, but I was wrong. On Friday, after work, as I was beginning my birthday weekend celebration, we got word that my Grandad (dad's dad) passed away. :'( So, we had to make the 11 hour drive yesterday to get to Pennsylvania for the funeral which will be Tuesday. The visitation is tomorrow, and I am not handling it well at all. I miss my Grandad like crazy, and today is the first birthday in 26 years that I have not heard him say "Happy Birthday." It's difficult, and I am around family, but still feel all alone. :'(
I hope that tomorrow will be a better day, or at least somewhat. I told everyone that I really didn't want a big to do made of today, given the somber mood that is surrounding it. I wanted to just kind of forget that today even exists. :(
Off all the family and everyone that is around the only 2 people that told me "Happy Birthday" today was TWG's Shamburg Crush, and my best friend L. Both of who I only talked to on the phone today. Made me feel good that at least the 2 of them thought about it!!!
I really didn't want a celebration, but at least hearing it would have been nice.
I haven't slept much in 3 days either, so maybe my mood is due to that. I am not sure.
Well, I will see all when we get home from Pennsylvania.

I just want to say how sorry I am to here about your granddad! He wouldn't want you to wish today never existed!!! So don't do that to yourself. He would have said "Happy Birthday!" to you if he could himself but nowing he would has to make you smile. :) And try not to take it personally that nobody has really sent Happy Birthday greetings your way....they all have their minds on something else right now. :-\
What you should do is mourn your grand dad's passing right now. Maybe sometime soon you could have a belated birthday celebration with some close family or friends. If not...just hang in there and remember that sometimes we are just going to have birthdays that are going to be like this. I had a few like this. One for the exact same reason except it was my grandmother who passed.
It's just a Bitter~Sweet day for you.....just mourn your granddad's passing and don't take this personally....K?
