One Chey: Metallica - And justice for all
One
(Hetfield,ulrich)
I Can't Remember Anything
Can't Tell If this Is True or Dream
Deep down Inside I Feel to Scream
this Terrible Silence Stops Me
Now That the War Is Through with Me
I'm Waking up I Can Not See
That There Is Not Much Left of Me
Nothing Is Real but Pain Now
Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death
Oh Please God,wake Me
Back in the Womb its Much Too Real
in Pumps Life That I must Feel
but Can't Look Forward to Reveal
Look to the Time When I'll Live
Fed Through the Tube That Sticks in Me
Just like a Wartime Novelty
Tied to Machines That Make Me Be
Cut this Life off from Me
Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death
Oh Please God,wake Me
Now the World Is Gone I'm Just One
Oh God,help Me Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death
Oh Please God Help Me
Darkness
Imprisoning Me
All That I See
Absolute Horror
I Cannot Live
I Cannot Die
Trapped in Myself
Body My Holding Cell
Landmine
Has Taken My Sight
Taken My Speech
Taken My Hearing
Taken My Arms
Taken My Legs
Taken My Soul
Left Me with Life in Hell
Re:One Chey: Hey Jim,
I have to admit the Johnny Cash version makes me tear up too, but for completely different reasons. I cannot go from U2 to Johnny cash singing the same song, that REALLY hurts :) Awesome song when done by U2 though...
As for the Metallica...the extended version with the dialogue, oh my God it freaks me out.

Re:One teacherwriterguy: There's an extended version with dialogue? Look what I don't know!
When I saw the title and visited the thread, I was thinking of the U2 song :) But the Metallica one will do...

Re:One Chey: As an english teacher this might interest you. The song that "One", was based (loosely) on the Johnny Got his Gun, based on the novel by Dalton Trumbo. I remember this because my Psych teacher in high school was a Vietnam Vet and had us read this novel, as the song came out around 88/89.
The video for this song, takes clips from the movie, and incorporates them. It's an extremely depressing and overwhelming video and song, and the movie is just as bad.
The anti-war novel tells the story of an American soldier in World War I who has been grossly disfigured by a landmine. All his appendages have been removed and his face was blown away leaving him trapped in a lifeless body, unable to communicate with the outside world. In the Metallica video they incorporate how he Morse codes to speak...begging for someone to kill him. It's pretty intense.
Anyhoo.......sorry, back to regular viewing.
