My dog just had a huge seizure. Any one have experience with this?

My dog just had a huge seizure. Any one have experience with this? AloneandCold: So I got up this morning and my dog was on the floor having what had to have been a huge seizure. It went on for a while then when it stopped he laid there for a minute then tried to stand up but his back legs would not work. Finally he was able to get up but he just stood there staring around. I tried calling him and talking to him but he didn't response. He sat back down for about ten minutes and just moved his head around and not responding to me with his tongue hanging all the way out. He is acting normal now, but does any body have any experience with this sort of thing?

What kind of dog is it? I had a black lab mix that started seizing and we found out she had epilepsy. According to the vet, labs have a tendancy towards this, which I had never heard before. Anyway, she started taking meds and was fine.

Oh most mixed dog do have seizure. However some seizures can be caused by diet.
