POEM: Unalone teacherwriterguy: Unalone
I was walking alone,
thinking how many poems
start that way
and how many times
we reach this moment
every day.
I was walking alone
enjoying solitude and home
and the grace
in the swing
of my oh-so-casual arms
untied to time or place.
I was walking alone
not remembering though on my own
that each movement I make
disturbs the air
makes the molecules collide
leaving sadness in my wake.

Re:POEM: Unalone teacherwriterguy: I just thought it was important to remember that sometimes we think we are alone, that our actions are only ours, and yet we impact others in ways we don't understand.
It's very hard to look outside your own head into the rest of the world to really see how you connect to people.
And how many of us, post-divorce, think that we don't matter, and so when we find out that we do matter, we're shocked. Of course we don't matter, we say - we didn't matter to the stbx - how can we matter to someone else now?
And then we do.
