well that was interesting... teacherwriterguy: Just a moment that recently happened that I wanted to share:

Well, I had a post a few weeks ago where I was struggling with the fact that stbx was getting in contact with me over random "friendly" things and I wasn't sure how to take the contact, whether I even wanted any friendship, whether I felt like responding, etc. etc. etc.

And at one point in that dialogue, she began to tell me about the new life that she'd started, and at the time, I put on the breaks completely and said, "I do not want to hear these things. Way past my boundaries." And we stopped - back to just talking about paperwork and whatnot.

ANYHOW - so weeks pass and our house sells, I've moved, the settlement agreement is signed, and so on and so forth. I had to get back in contact with stbx over cancelling the insurance on the house after the sale - and I asked if she had received the check from the house sale because I knew money was tight with her.

She wrote back and said she had received the check, and talked for a while in an e-mail about how she was doing at work and what was going on with her - same exact things that threw me a few weeks ago.

Didn't phase me today. I read them, went about my day, and then here I was unpacking and it occurred to me that this was the same thing that had bothered me earlier.

Huh. How about that?

Re:well that was interesting... Chey: I bet you already know the answer to this :) Different head space...settled in to YOUR own place, settled in to your life, physically emotionally and mentally changed addresses. You are now no longer available for her to drop this stuff on. In all three ways.

The path of least resistance is acceptance.

Re:well that was interesting... sheydp: Hi you! Just finally caught this! Way to go! You really are moving on - doing so great! I am thrilled for you, I know how many times things have hit you in the negative ways, it is really really good to hear about the one that hits you positively. Big hugs from me, ok? Love ya!
