A Texas Blessing
.

A Texas Blessing Phyxius: Note: If you are not a resident of TEXAS or never have lived in the hot, humid Southwest, you may not understand the weight of this blessing! ;)

Bless this house, oh Lord, we cry.
Please keep it cool in mid-July.
Bless the walls where termites dine,
While ants and roaches march in time.

Bless our yard where spiders pass
Fire ant castles in the grass.
Bless the garage, a home to please
Carpenter beetles, ticks and fleas.

Bless the love bugs, two by two,
The gnats and mosquitoes that feed on you.
Millions of creatures that fly or crawl,
In TEXAS, Lord, you've put them all!!

But this is home, and here we'll stay,
So thank you Lord, for insect spray.

Re:A Texas Blessing penguin: Oh, I love that. I think you forgot the tarantulas that come out in the summer and the scorpions and the wasps and the rattle snakes and the vultures hanging around roadkill and the skunks and the ... you get the picture...

Re:A Texas Blessing Phyxius: Well, I've already traumatized Bubba with all that once - I didn't want to freak him out again! ;D
Re:A Texas Blessing penguin: Weiner! Don't Mess With Texas... or Texans!

The stars at night, are big and bright,
deep in the heart of Texas,

The prairie sky is wide and high,

deep in the heart of Texas.

The sage in bloom is like perfume,
deep in the heart of Texas,

Reminds me of, the one I love,

deep in the heart of Texas.

The coyotes wail, along the trail,

deep in the heart of Texas,

The rabbits rush, around the brush,

deep in the heart of Texas

The cowboys cry, "Ki-yip-pee-yi,"

deep in the heart of Texas.

The doggies bawl, and bawl and bawl,

deep in the heart of Texas
