buying drinks clambakesX: Am I the only one who's really uncomfortable with the idea of buying / being-bought drinks as a pick-up move?
Granted, I don't spend much time in bars, so I'm not 'up' on the etiquette and underlying significance here ...
Re:buying drinks pluscachange: I think it's gauche. As a first move I mean. If you've been chatting with a person for a while and you both run dry, that's another thing of course.

I've sent drinks over to many women in my time some times it worked some times it did not but it was well worth the 5 or 6 bucks I think 8)
Re:buying drinks pluscachange: Must be a regional thing. I've not seen it work well here where I live, except maybe to play a guy as a chump and walk away with a free drink.
I suppose if she's already interested though anything you do will most likely work, eh? ;)

Hey man out west the women love a free drink but, You might be right never looked at it like that ;D It is very diffrent out here.
I roped a girl in a bar once that did not work too well her B/F found no humor in it at all :o Got a nice scar just above the eye for that one ::)
