ISO's pickle quote made me think of this...
Go to Bed with a Cheese and Pickle Sandwich
Mandy Coe
It is life enhancing
It doesn't chat you up
_You_ have to make it.
A cheese and pickle sandwich
is never disappointing.
You don't lie there thinking
Am I too fat?
Too fertile?
Too insecure?
Your thoughts are clear,
your choices simple;
to cut in half,
or not to cut in half.
How thin to slice the cheese,
and where you should place the pickle.
From a cheese and pickle sandwich
you do not expect flowers,
poems, and acts of adoration.
You expect what you get:
cheese... and pickle.
You want, you eat,
and afterwards you have eaten.
No lying awake resentful,
listening to it snore.
Safe snacks.
It comes recommended.
Re:ISO's pickle quote made me think of this... in_search_of: Excellent pickle poem... on many levels. I just made Amola some grilled cheese the other day, and as I was driving home I was thinking that it had been a long time since I had a grilled cheese and pickle sandwich (one of my favorites! I love grilled cheese and pickles...)
And as for the pickle quote...
This came from my first ojar gathering, 5 of us in St. Louis, and I was telling a story that I did not want picadilly (pic to hear, at least not until I told him....) so SS made everyone take a pic oath. Well, then we had skavachi, SS, Sully, and Frid and I sitting around. (I think everyone was there by that point). Well, Skav being Skav, and 1/2 deaf and 1/2 silly said take what....so we repeated the "pic oath" and he thought both times that we said he had to take a pickle...
So for last christmas I get a package in the mail, and it is a Glass Pickle curtesy of SS...
So now, all I have is my love, my life, my undying gratitude, and the pic oath!
My first ojar gathering inspiring posts! how awesome!
Re:ISO's pickle quote made me think of this... teacherwriterguy: Alright - now I'm just wondering who makes glass pickles.

Re:ISO's pickle quote made me think of this... amola: i have a glass pickle......
it's a christmas ornament. german tradition, it's the last ornament to be put on the tree, and the first child to find it christmas morning gets a special gift. as much as i hate pickles, i still put it on my tree every year. the town i grew up in was called "dillsburg" and so i've endured pickle jokes all my life.....
and no, we did not make pickles there....
