Re:EEEEEEeeekk! in_search_of: I can understand the EEEeeeek factor of all this. After much avoiding of my BF's family because well, my ex's family sucked eggs. After a few meetings, I am thrilled with them. I finally had to fess up to the BF as to why I was avoiding his family, and told him the whole story about the exes family and their egg sucking antics. He assured me that it would be find, I assured him that if it was not fine that I would break up with him before we left Kansas City. It all went fine, his mom and dad are great (see dinner with the fam) his extended family is great. And in the end it all worked out.
IT will be fine, and you will get over the eek factor quickly, I promise. you will wow them!

Ohhhh be careful about that...LOL. I dated a handful of men in my life, and most of the times, the parents were normal or even great. But I think we ALL have met those parents that will forever scar us (hahaha).
Either way - have fun Tara - it's all a learning experience!
Re:EEEEEEeeekk! justmenow: Yeah, that's not something you really consider when you're thirtysomething and dating again, is it? I am terrified to meet my SO's parents (actually his Mom, specifically).
Unfortunately last weekend he was blindsided when my parents just showed up at my house to drop something off when he was over. Oooops!! :-[ It's okay, though, they liked him.

Re:EEEEEEeeekk! tyrogers: LOL! Bubs has met my mom and I will be meeting his parents on the 14th. Although, I must say, I have never ever been nervous meeting any guy's parents. I usually get along well with parents. If not, then at least I can fake it so that they like me somewhat! Muhahahaha
