mindsputters
.

mindsputters jimloveless: the rugged hues of these earthtone blues
i gave away everything i had to lose
so don't ask me for anything more
don't look for me from your golden shore
i'd abandoned ship long, long before

cinged curtains and moldy wood frame
the house stands gutted in the pouring rain
and you'll either forgive me
or cast out your blame
when i have forgotten the sound of your name

it'll never be the same
i'll never be the same

striding over these landmark memories
poloroid windows tumble away with the breeze
and they're so sad to see
so hearttearing disparaging disgustingly free
no longer secured between you and me

stained white sheets
size seven shoes on five-sized feet
commonplace beautiful
by the heaping spoonful
daisy days of summer lover heat
gracefully she whispered
her tonguetwister lies
butterfly on her nose
amber in her eyes

this is the house that love built
it's charred frame sits at a moderate tilt
smouldering tendrils seeping like silk
laziliy slither ever upward
light like an angel homeward bound

and i slump to the ground
unable to contain my envy
unwilling to restrain my frown
god, put me down.
for what purpose do i flounder
upon this sea just to drown?

make me an angel
they don't have to feel pain
make me an angel
with wings and gold maine
with harp or with sword
i'd serve God my lord
and have purpose restored
make me an angel
this i implore
