I sat and pondered a thought today,
What love is and what it means to me.
Do all people love in the same way?
Is loves meaning based in individuality?
These are the answers I found for myself,
And may be quite different for someone else.
Love is caring, affectionate, sincere and true,
But is more than just the things that you do.
Love is friendship, companionship or a bond,
Not just a feeling for someone, of being fond.
Love is a passionate compassion for someone else,
Enough so that at times you forget about SELF.
Love is intimacy at its best and through the worst,
And giving of yourself for all you are worth.
Love is a desire to see or make each other smile,
Because in that you find it all seems worth the while.
Love I feel is also a very needful thing,
I think it must be fed much like a spring.
Love is excepting someone for who they are,
But wanting to be better for them than you are.
Love expects to be returned in as much as it gives,
And often flows freely from the soul in which it lives.
Love is knowing, trusting, attraction for another,
But not just because it is being given by the other.
Love is a selfless thought of someone else’s needs,
And turning those thoughts in to selfless deeds.[/center">
