I know in my particular situation with my ex, he was gone all the time, told me he was working, when in actuality he was having an affair, but before I knew about the affair, I remember feeling very alone and unloved because he was gone all the time. My ex was never a very affectionate man, unless he was hitting me, but when he was gone so much, I felt a huge void, almost like I wasn't even married anymore.
That helped me make the decision to leave. I felt alone in the marriage, I might as well actually be alone and not get hit anymore either. THat's why I left.
From reading your post, I see that she was unfaithful, maybe that is her reasoning for leaving. She couldn't feel complete with you, and thinks she can find it elsewhere. Don't let that action by her make you feel like less of a man. From the sounds of it, you just got dealt a raw hand, but there will be a silver lining on this dark cloud that has encircled your life.
