What should I do?
.

What should I do? WhiskeyGirl: Okay guys.....remember the guy I met last weekend, we exchanged #'s, e-mail, etc, and he said he wants to come out this coming weekend so we can go out for dinner and all that sooooooooo.....anyway, we never made concrete plans, where to meet, etc and he said he would call me later in the week to set that all up. Now I have a bit of a family crisis and I have to head out of town tomorrow morning, I will be gone all weekend. Question is......I sooooooooooo am uncomfortable with being the first one to call ....but at the same time I dont want him to think I just took off because something better came along. What should I do....I feel like Im damned if I do, damned if I dont.....One way I may come across as too forward (calling first) the other I look like I dont give a damn at all. Im stumped ??? Can ya'll tell Im new to this whole dating thing!! LOL Come on guys.....what to do? Im thinking mabey just a short e-mail explaining what happened and when I'll be back? what do you think?
Re: What should I do? sigkapgirl: Maybe since you have his email, you could send an email out to several people at once explaining while you'll be away, that way, it shows that you cared enough to include him, but doesn't come across as too forward. :)

Re: What should I do? WhiskeyGirl: Heyyyyyyyy....now theres a woman with a brain!! ;D Thanks TH  thats a perfect idea ;)
Re: What should I do? whatnext: These situations are so funny -- who is most willing to put their head on the chopping block.

THH -- great solution -- ride the line...

WG, I'm a little surprised at this aspect of your personality!  It's cute... but, from a guy, if you are generally as direct in person as online, I would expect you to be comfortable with asking...

I know, we all sound so tough in 1s and 0s

Good luck...

LOL....you know its funny you should say that.. :-\ This is all pretty strange for me because I am usually fairly confidant and direct in person or online. I fact, people who know me would be shocked that I asked anyone "what to do" but ya know.......the truth is this scares the hell out of me. For so long I was just a wife and mother, I knew who I was, I knew what was expected of me....now I have to fit into this whole new role of a single girl and for the first time in ages I feel insecure and nervous. Im not as tough as I thought I was ......and Im scared!!! I am so glad I found you guys......I can voice all my insecurities and fears, get them out, feel better and still at least pretend to have my shit together in life!!! LMAO!
Thanks OJAR!
