First visit with a lawyer Mooneyes: Finally I called a lawyer. I got his number from a co-worker. I went in and talked with him today. I don't think my stbx will be very happy with what I came up with, which is he takes all of the smaller debts, and I take the largest one. I will still have more debt than he does.
I am worried about the final separation of debt and assets. But we are waiting now on him providing his financial records and on both of us coming up with enough money for the lawyer. We both need $125 to start.
I am filled with so many different emotions all at once. Looking both forward and back until my neck aches. But when will my stomach stop aching?
