Re: Vents for Friday 8/12/05 down2basics: OMG! Lettingo! I know exactly how you feel. I'm at the end of my fiancial rope - school is about to start and my kids still have no shoes. Ex's family is supposed to get those this weekend, otherwise - I'm SCREWED! I'm in such a panic.
All things being equal, I think, if he says his family will do it, more often than not, they do. It may not be what I'd have picked for the kids, but it's something. My baby girl, who's birthday is today, need shoes in a big way. She has nothing she can wear to school (she's a flip-flop queen however!)
My baby boy has one pair of shoes but no belts and has a limited wardrobe of clothes to choose from, which most of his outfits need a belt of some kind. Bless his heart! He's such a good boy too. He just puts his hand on my shoulder and says, "It's okay mama - I have enough!" (:'( My baby!)

Re: Vents for Friday 8/12/05 LettinGo: D2B,
That really upsets me and brought tears to my eyes! (I am emotional today ... lol) Your son sounds like an absolute angel ... what a great kid you are raising! (And yikes - I do not want to even start thinking about school!)
My STBX's family does help out a bit too. In fact, his sister sent the second half of the child support he failed to pay in July so that I could make my August mortgage payment. She cannot help any further though.
You know what really sucks? I have a good job - but no matter what, I am a single mother of three and I will NEVER be able to support them on my own and will always depend on my loser ex for financial assistance. When I don't get it, it is the children who suffer ... and I am doing my very best as it is!!
How is it ever going to get better financially? (short of winning the lotto ... guess I should start playing)
???
Vents for Friday 8/12/05 LettinGo: He can't pay child support, but he can move his GF from out of state and support her.
He can't buy diapers for his VISITATION time with the kids when he takes them out, but he can spend $25 on his haircut. (And then has the nerve to tell me he is going to go INTO my house and TAKE diapers)
He has to pay his own rent, but it's okay if I can't pay my mortgage (back to lack of child support) because I have options. (Ummm ... if anyone has any clue what my "options" are, please let me know because I certainly don't)
It is my fault he lost his job. Why? Well, he got kicked out of his last apartment and had no place to stay, so he was so exhausted he fell asleep on the job. Naturally, that was my fault because I should have offered him a place to stay. ::)
Oh, and if I am soooooo concerned about losing my home and my children having a roof over their heads, why don't I just give them to STBX and pay him support? Lmfao! Yes, I would willingly let them leave their house to live in a 1 bedroom apt that has exactly one aero bed and a tv on the floor.
I swear to G*d - if STBX hadn't gotten so FAT I would swear he was on crack!!
Re: Vents for Friday 8/12/05 brokenupgirl: I'm sorry to hear about your deadbeat ex! You are so much better off without him though! At least you don't have to live with him anymore, right? I feel sorry for the girl he's with now.
How old is this guy? He's acting like a spoiled 12 year old.
