Mom... no.... lghawaiian: My mother attempted suicide yesterday. She has dimentia, which, for those who don't know, is pretty much the under 65 version of Alzheimers. She is pretty developed, and yesterday was the breaking point for her, the doctors say. She ran out of my sisters front door and threw herself on the benches on the porch. She lifted herself up and threw herself down again. Then, she tried to throw herself over the railing. Luckily my sister caught her and brought her to the ER. She is now resting in Providence Behavioral Hospital in Holyoke, MA. The doctors say that this is where the psychosis will likely set in, and she will probably forget who we are.
I'm gonna miss my mom. Please pray for her.

At least she is in good hands.
Is there any meds. that can arrest the progression of dementia.
