Re: Need help- evacuating to San Antonio!!!! Spectrum: Hi everyone!

I made it to San Antonio today, in only 10 hours for a 200 mile drive! HAHA.... Actually, I met lots of people who had been on the road there since yesterday, and I'm sure many of them still haven't gotten here yet, as I drove about 50 miles SW along the coast (to where it was already evacuated) and then NW up to San Antonio.... I spent from 4:30am to 9:30am getting the first 40 miles, then back-tracked 10 miles to cut south and detour around.... but then I drove 50-70mph the rest of the way for the most part, which was much better than bumper-to-bumper 2-5mph traffic!

Now I'm here, and the weather predictions for San Antonio are totally mild, so I should definitely be able to fly in and out with ease for my interviews! ;D

Need help- evacuating to San Antonio!!!! Spectrum: Hi all,

Are there any ojarians in either San Antonio or Austin that would be willing to let me crash (on a floor even) for Thursday night? I'm supposed to fly out of San Antonio on Friday to get home for a job interview, and I know I need to be out of Houston on Thursday, but there aren't any hotel rooms anywhere.

If you need a reference, PM ChristyM, Jason, Melissa, JimB, SheyDP, DJ, or Beren. All have met me and can testify that I'm not crazy!

I have a dog, but I have a kennel lined up in San Antonio. I would need to find a place for the dog if I go to Austin.

Thanks!!!

ps. I'll be at work until 9:30pm or so tonight, so please PM me and I'll call when I get home from work!
Re: Need help- evacuating to San Antonio!!!! Bubba: BUMP - You should have put this in commonly read area, but since you didn't I am bumping it up so more people see it!
Re: Need help- evacuating to San Antonio!!!! Spectrum: Thanks Bubba!

I double-posted it on the main board, but it didn't seem to help much.

Fortunately a good friend of mine whose family is in San Antonio returned from England tonight and set me up to stay with her sister. :)

So, now it's time to nap a bit before heading out on a six-hour drive over a three-hour distance.
