Working Mother's Prayer down2basics: Working Mother's Prayer
O Lord, since I must now entrust my precious child into the arms of another so that I may go forth to earn bread for our table, accept my offering of tears and deep regret.
Take my child, Lord—and my aching heart—and lay them together in your dear Mother's lap where both may rest secure until I come again to claim my treasures.
Amen.

Re: Working Mother's Prayer justmenow: Wow, my prayer looks a little different:
Please God, let them be strong against temptation, protect them from the perverts and the bad drivers, protect them from themselves, let them make the right choices. Don't let them do the things I did in my life, please give them a chance to make things right.
God, make sure they do their homework, treat others fairly, help others less fortunate than them and at the same time, realize how fortunate they actually are. But most important, God, please give them self confidence and let them always feel loved, to spite the fact that their father is not very good at expressing it towards them. They are treasured in my heart and yours and you will always be their true Father.
Amen
Re: Working Mother's Prayer jenny_memphis:
that was absolutely beautiful! I get tears in my eyes thinking about it sometimes... that my DS is only mere miles away, and we can't be together... and sometimes all I want to do is just leave work early, head straight to daycare and scoop him up in my arms and never let go...
one of the best feelings on earth is when I pick him up at the end of the day and he comes running toward me, yelling "MOMMIEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad to see you!!!!"
Thanks B2B... I'm printing that one out and going to include it in my daily prayers....
