What do you like about not being married
There are several interesting things I have discovered now that I live on my own with my two boys that that I notice have changed me.
What are some of the good points about not having that someone around for you? I know everyone has something. Even the new people here must have one thing that has improved after the seperation or divorce ;D
Build off of that if you can. It will help pull you back up if you let it.

I eat what I want and don't have to stick to his stupid, annoying ATKINS diet. I swear if I hear the word "carbohydrates" one more time... ???
I get the whole bed to myself and it's quiet at night AND I can sleep with the windows open and the fan on.
I am Queen of the remote control and no longer have to watch C-SPAN for hours at a time. :P :P
No more clutter... :D
No more wasteful spending.
No more CRITICISM!! :-[
Wow... I didn't expect my list to be so long. I could go on...but I wont. ;D
Re: What do you like about not being married Marb_Man: I think it is great you notice your freedom. That is number 1 and should be on everyones list even if you are living with someone. People should never forget who they are and no person should ever control someone.
Re: What do you like about not being married Billsfan709: I've only been newly single for a week..but she's been gone since Memorial Day..Still adjusting..I like:
1. Ex was a shopaholic..not on nice stuff, mind you, but $75 dollar forays to Dollar Tree!? Now my money is mine, and now I actually have some!
2. My friends who didn't come around because of Ex are now my buddies again..It's shocking to hear, "I wanted to hang out with you but I didn't like her". I've heard it a lot.
3. My house looks like an adult man lives there, not two college students.
4. My house is neater, although I am not anal retentive, ex's cleaning skills were subpar.
5. I don't miss coming home from work at 6:30 (she's home since 4) and hearing "What are you making for dinner?".
6. I can not watch football on Sundays and not feel like a pariah.
7. This is true..while married I "turned off" the ability to flirt, and felt bad about noticing women..now I do it all the time.
