True Love?

True Love? AloneandCold: What exactly is the difference between love and true love?  And what kind of love is it if it isn't true?  Maybe love is the kind you fall into and true love is the kind you work for?  What do you guys think?
Re: True Love? SunnyFlower: I like your idea..."falling" into it rather than "working" for it.

Interesting.  I guess it's how you look at it?

I was married to my first husband for seven years.  We broke up twice before we were married, and had several ups and downs our entire marriage.  I WORKED in that marriage, and it still ended in divorce.

I resolved never to date/marry again!

Then along came a guy....I was determined not to develop feelings.  Months later, I "fell" in love with this wonderful man and have since married him.  (And have honestly never been happier!!)

I really think it all has to do with the person/s involved in thier own unique relationship.

There are so many differences between my ex and present husband that leave me to believe that.

hmmm..... maybe love is only infatuation and maybe true love developes after infatuation wears off.

That's exactly my idea of true love. Love is what left after falling in love. It trascends.

I love this!  I really think you nailed it on the head.  It also kinda realtes to the infamous line most of us heard from our ex's:  'I love you but I'm not IN love with you.'  Maybe their love was just the "regular" love and being IN love is when you work through your problems no matter how hard it is - and unfortunately most of our ex's weren't IN love enough to work through those problem/issues - at least in my case.

Very interesting thought Bug.
Re: True Love? browngreen: Bug,
I think true love is the product of thinking of another person's happiness as equally important to your own, and accepting them warts and all.

Plain and simple.
