Re: Attn : WhiskeyGirl Beachchick: Hi you guys....

I used to ride, but when I was married, wasn't allowed to because "it was too expensive" and I had to pay for it if I did. Since my ex husband didn't want me to work, I didn't have any money.

now that, that big ass is gone, I just moved into my own place on the beach..and guess what? Near a stable!!

I had some riding gear in storage, but just found out, the movers stole my boots, helmet, crop, and everything else...so I'm starting over again.

I'm also saving to lease a horse, so I could ride whenever I feel like it....

You guys have saved me....and WhiskeyGirl....you've made A LOT of people feel very safe...and grateful...thank you.
Re: Attn : WhiskeyGirl WhiskeyGirl: Wow you guys! this is so cool, theres a whole pack of us horsie girls here ;D
Spec....heres a funny story, the guy in my avatar sold as a hunter!! LOL I did start him over fences but he was sloppy as far as I was concerned, dropped, uneven knees....so I concentrated on dressage with him but the same thing happened to me, I had him for sale through a broker, and a woman looking for a hunter saw his video and bought him....sight unseen :o too funny ::)
And beachchick!!! welcome back to the world of horses!! Leasing is an awesome idea, even a part lease....just so you can get out and ride...its so therapeutic ;D

I don't even know what to say to that...except thank you :)...thats the nicest thing I could possibly hear :)

Attn : WhiskeyGirl Pumpkin: Hey WiskeyGirl, I saw a message that you ride to deal with stress, etc...just wanted to say that I ride english, too (saw your pic).  I do eventing and live in TX.  Saw that you live in Canada and assume from your pic that you ride dressage.  Just wanted to give you a heads up that there is someone else out there who loves to ride and going through a divorce.  I sold my last horse, an Irish Sport Horse, when I was pregnant b/c she had just been broke and was too green to ride while I was pregnant.  My son is now 18 months and I haven't been on a horse since....I know what you mean about it getting your mind off of things - wish I had an opportunity to ride but I am more advanced for the school horses, so that wouldn't really be that great.  Anyway, just wanted to say hi!

Re: Attn : WhiskeyGirl WhiskeyGirl: Hey pumpkin!!!
Good to meet you! Yes I do ride english....I breed warmbloods (mostly dutch) for dressage and hunter/jumper prospects. I don't have the time to show anymore either since I had kids but I do keep my old QH for trail riding and stuff.
There are 3 of us now....Spectrum is another member who is into horses....actually just learned that her mare's sire is the grandsire to the horse I am riding in the pic.
Small world ;D

Re: Attn : WhiskeyGirl PnR: I ride too. I've had my horse for 2 years now but have been riding a lot longer. I don't get out nearly as much as I should due to work and the stables been on different sides of the city but I manage about 4 times a week.
I just discovered cross country, wow I wish I did it sooner. The eventing season is starting now so I'm really excited about that. I think I'm in love.
