I know I'm being irrational... twobeautifulkids: But I really hate dead things. Shortly after my ex left our plecco died. The sucker was huge. Definitely not flushing material. Of course he died on a Thursday morning and trash pick up is on Wednesday. With the heat and all I had to put him in a bag and a container to avoid stinking up the world for a week. I was shaking and freaking out. My kids laughed at me. I guess you can guess where this is going. Had another fish tank casualty last night. One of the HUGE angel fish died. The top of the top fin to the bottom of the bottom fin spans probably 4 inches. They are big. (We don't have a lot of fish in the tank as we had/have an unknown killer that wouldn't allow us to introduce new fish.) Anyway, I know I need to remove this dead angel fish. I am dreading doing it. I hate this. I know if I try to flush it there will be plumbing problems and a dead floating fish, so I have to get it into something and put it in the outside trash. At least the temps are cooler now. And this really sucks as the angels are my favorite in our tank. They were a pair, I wonder how long til the other one dies out of lonliness. Poor fishy.
I know I'm being childish, so please don't tell me that. I just needed to vent about it!

Ahhh you make me feel so much better! I'm not sure I'll keep this tank once these fish are gone. 1 Angel, 2 Kissing Gouramis, 1 zebra danio (I think!), 1 albino tetra
That's all that's left. I spent hours this afternoon trying to get the tank back to somewhere close to good (tbx wasn't great about tending to it while he was here, so I shouldn't be surprised he hasn't while he's not been here) so I can just maintain it. I am disgusted by how it looks now (looks much worse than when I started). Praying that the new filters will do their job well and the tank will be clear by the morning. I learned more about fish tank care than I could possibly ever have wanted to today.

nah....i prefer my fish to not have their eyes in them anymore if they are in my freezer, and I just don't have it in me to chop their head off to make them that way!
