Then again, every year for the last 4 years that I can remember off the top of my head, they said they would make sure that there would be less hooking & holding & free up the ice for players... & every year for the last 4 years that I can remember off the top of my head, it falls apart by December. So we'll see. lol.
As long as people are buying the tickets, that’s mostly what matters. Though having it look like a sold out game on TV would probably add to it, too.
The dump & chase I think is arguably a legitimate strategy since they have to cross the centre line to do it or it's off side but then the offensive player gets the momentum going & can typically get there before the defensive players that are skating backwards. Sometimes that is the only way to carry a puck in or get that line change off.
