OK I graduated to this board thehitekrednek: I haven't dated in 19 years. Back then things were a little different; sex was safe and motorcycles were dangerous.
I am as nervous as a kid at the dentist.
I'm 40, not bad looking, great job, good shape, dress nice.
Where the hell do I go from here?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Join a gym, start an exercise program, make a list of everything you want to do and enjoy being SINGLE again.
I like to think of it as "ground hog day". Don't try to date everything in a skirt.
Spend everyday improving yourself and doing what you want, when you want. Women are attracted to guys that have their $hit together look svelt and have an interesting life.
Describe in great detail the man you always wanted to become and from this day forward strive to reach that goal.
Travel the world, write the greatest novel, paint the image nobody will forget, sing the song, and dance like no one is watching.

Get out there - be single - enjoy it. Once you start doing that - it probably won't last long. Do not get attached to who and when you will date otherwise it won't happen.

Go out, be yourself, have a good time, and people to date will find you....and you will find them, and you will find the right person when the time is right. And when you are not lokoing for them at all.

I agree with everything but this. Date anything and everything that interests you. Date everything in a skirt, jeans, shorts, sundresses, bikinis etc.
Many of them are going to try and latch on to you and keep you, especially if they are older(I'm generalizing.) Pry yourself away and keep going until you find one you want to latch on to. She's probably leave one day and never call you back, but hey, just keep going.
You'll eventually find one that wants you to stick around and one you want to stick around and guess what? You'll have a girlfriend :)
This is man to man advice, women will give you different advice! :D
