My Friend's Husband Needs Space Raul: I discoverd recently that my friend's husband left her 2 months ago. I told her about OJAR, but she feels a little shy telling her situation over the net. She gave me permission to briefly tell her story and if anyone out there can share some light about her situation.
She has been married for more than 30 years to her husband. One day, her husband just packed up and left (didn't take everything- just some stuff). He hasn't really gave her an explanation to why he has left. And she has been patiently waiting for an answer for 2 months now. They do e-mail back and forth- but rarely. He doesn't answer questions- he mostly goes around them or don't answer at all. He moved out of the city into a friend's home. My friend doesn't like to assume, but she is aware that there is a woman who comforts him by talking on the phone. She doesn't suspect there is more. He hasn't asked for a divorce. He just says he needs time to find himself and doesn't really express himself. She has given him space and time. She doesn't look for him or pressure him. She is very supportive.
Does anyone have any opinion or advice that I can pass on to her? She doesn't know if she should just confront him until he says what he wants or should she just move on?

Re: My Friend's Husband Needs Space sheydp: If she is thinking about moving on, she should confront him. At worst, he will say "Yes, it is over" but then she can move on honestly, and cleanly. I think she has been more than patient, it is time for HER to demand for her needs as well - and knowing where she stands with him is a simple and basic need. Have her talk to him.

My friend did read your reply and really appreciated you taking your time to answer. Apparently, she told me that they have actually been married for 19 years- not 30. She read it and walked away. She looked like she has alot of thinking to do.
