Why can't it be easy?

Why can't it be easy? lonelywithouthim: Maybe it was a bad idea to try to date someone who's going through a divorce also, not to mention the fact that he lives 800 miles away.  It's so frustrating. I'm scared, he's confused.. we both really like eachother,but it seems impossible.  bla bla bla... life can't be simple.. ever... I hate it  :(  I'm just ready to give up.

Re: Why can't it be easy? lonelywithouthim: I think I messed up big time.  I told him we didn't need to talk until he got his head straight.  I wanted to explore other options.  I hurt him, and it absoultely has crushed me.  I never wanted to hurt him.. I never expected to fall for someone who was just as messed up as I was at the time.  I just can't let him hurt me first, I feel so heartless. I really like him.. what am I supposed to do?
Re: Why can't it be easy? YellowJacket: Be honest with him about everything you are feeling.  Don't assume he understands something unless you have explicitly stated it.  Long distance relationships are tough and it's extremely important to have open communication.

If you feel that you've hurt him and feel terrible about doing so, let him know that.  If you want him and don't really care to explore other options, let him know that too.  As long as you're honest you're giving it your best shot.
