LOL. Sorry about that, Tarheel. Some of us are not that difficult to understand, believe me.

Re: Men should come with instructions... Beren: There are a few books buy a guy named Warren Farrell (no, not Will Farrell!) that serve reasonably well as instruction manuals. "The Myth of Male Power" is a good one. The title's kind of a put-off, but the material inside is pretty good.

Men should come with instructions... Bea: How to read this one?
A good friend of mine confessed he's had a thing for me since he met me 5 years ago. I was then married, of course, off limits. Now I'm not, so we kinda sorta went out when I was in his town a month ago. It was "just for fun", "no strings attached" and that's how I took it. Now he's calling every week and he asked me why I never call or write to tell him how I am. He also said he misses me and that he would drive a few hours just to come and see me.
I really don't get it. What does he want? I probably shouldn't try to think much about it and I certainly don't need any emotional turmoil in my life right now, but when a guy says no strings attached and then calls you with so much insistence... Oh well! I'm just curious.
Re: Men should come with instructions... JerniganReturns: It's not uncommon for either a man or a woman to project an aura of being more casual and carefree than they actually are. In fact, I'd say most people do this. A few times in my recent "dating" past---I would call it hanging out, really---I was told, "Oh, I'm not looking for anything serious!" When someone announces this, sometimes the opposite is the case, naturally.
I don't think your friend's behavior sounds so confounding. Sounds pretty ordinary to me.
