Re: The No-Date Era dgiirl: I need a date!  Anyone up for it? :)

It's been about 9.5 months now, and I havent even been trying.  Due to my current situation, I dont foresee me dating for atleast another 6 months either.  I have to sell my house so I can move to a new city.  I dont want to meet anyone here and then end up staying here.  I WANT to move.  So i dont want to meet anyone.  So i'm not dating :)

The No-Date Era Trying2Hope: What is the longest anyone here has gone (after divorce) without dating?

I ask only because I'm pretty sure it will be decades before I ever date seriously again.

Re: The No-Date Era dgiirl: *waves back to fre* come here often? :)

LT, it's not pathetic at all.  To be honest, I've only dated 3 guys in my life.  My first bf when I was 16.  We broke up after 6 months.  2 years later I had a "i dont know what you would call it" with a 23 year old for about 2 months.  2 years after that I met my exh.  So based on my past experiences, I'm predicting atleast 2 years of solitude, atleast.  Maybe even 4 years b4 i find someone serious.

Re: The No-Date Era RSGinATX: Well, I'm not the longest, I'm sure(I hope!)..but it's been about 10 months so far.  It took several months before I even felt ready and during that time I stumbled and fumbled so badly that I got into the attitude of not even trying to date.  Once all this holiday business is passed I'll be back out there though...of course by then it'll be about a year.

I could sit around feeling sorry for not being in a relationship for so long, but when I look at my unmarried friends I realize I've been alone a lot less time, in total, than they have.  So, I can stay the course until something good comes along.
