Foreign Woman on US Online Dating Websites timer:
Has anyone here actually met in person a woman from another country who they found on an online dating website. Were they as beautiful as the pictures they sent you?
Here's why I ask:
On one of the online dating websites, I got a message from an extremely attractive 24 year old woman who said she lived in NYC. After I emailed her a couple of times and told her I was going to be in NYC over the weekend and that we should meet up, she disclosed that she was from a small town in Russia .
I'm still communicating with her and I haven't foreclosed the idea of meeting her someday despite the distance if she is who she says she is and looks like her pictures. Perhaps she is indeed a beautiful Russian woman who wants to come to America, get married, get US citizenship and then dump the guy. However, she could also be some narly skank who is trying to do the same thing.
I am interested in meeting this woman if it is really her. But before I go any further I want to know if this is legit.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Foreign Woman on US Online Dating Websites WhiskeyGirl: Online is online.....I've heard some horror stories about people using completely outdated or random pictures that look nothing like them.....I'd tread pretty carefully......specially since she has lied to you already.
Just my 2 cents :)
Re: Foreign Woman on US Online Dating Websites Whirlpool: Let me guess, americansingles? I would be skeptical of any Russian and African women (not African-American, but from Africa esp Ghana and Nigeria). In my brief dating site stint every contact I had from these areas was a scam. They almost ALWAYS give you a separate email address (usually yahoo) to talk to them instead of through the dating site. I started replying to them just to get the evidence to get them banned, lol. They always ended up asking for money within 2 emails. Do a google search for Russian dating site scams, alot of them.
Re: Foreign Woman on US Online Dating Websites jillieb44: Yeah, I heard the same thing about the scams. They get you hooked via wonderful e-mails and pics, then claim they need money for this or that or to come to the US.
Tread very carefully.

Re: Foreign Woman on US Online Dating Websites LifeisBetter: Run... run far, far away.
If she already lied to you, then that is NOT a good sign. Just be careful because it is so easy to pretend you are someone you aren't when on-line. Pictures aren't necessarily reality. Just be careful.
