Something positive

Something positive joles: Since I feel like all I do on this board is @!tch and gripe, I just wanted to finally put up a post with some positive stuff.  (I really am not normally so negative).  ;D

I am very grateful through all of this that I have an awesome family.  My mom and dad are wonderful and supportive.  My brother is also a great guy.  The first day in all of this that I actually did not cry was the day I spent hanging out with my wonderful brother.  It was nice to have something to do all day- we watched movies, played frisbee, went hiking, and watched TV.

I have been looking for a job for months and months.  After months and months of no bites, I have had 2 interviews in the last few weeks and I am setting up another interview tomorrow.  I applied to 5 jobs yesterday and I hope to hear from some of them later this week or the beginning of next week.  :)

And I am excited about the KY, OH, IN gathering at Louisville next week.
;D

I am also thankful for finding this board.  It is great to have such a supportive group of people who always listen and give good advice.  It is also nice to know that there are people out there who know exactly what I am feeling and who have been through the same thing.  Although, it would be nice if no one had to go through all of this.

:)
Re: Something positive joles: I have an interview tomorrow and another one on Monday.
:)
Re: Something positive dave13: Kudos Joles! ;D  Thats awesome way to go! I will send you my "great interview" vibes. Be relaxed, confident, and walk in knowing that you are great and capable as we know you are. Heck, find something the interviewer likes and chat it up. Way to go.

Also thanks for such a positive post. I needed that.
Re: Something positive joles: Well, I had my first interview today.  It went ok, except that it was an hour long and the interviewer did all of the talking.  He told me all about the place then asked me to tell about myself.  I talked for about 4 sentences and then he started talking again.  He answered all of my questions.  I probably did 5 minutes of talking while he did 55.

Also, to my surprise, I found out that 1 of my sorority sisters works at this clinic.  Also another one of them works there on the weekends.  They are both good friends of mine that I have not talked to in about a year.  They both will flip out when they find out about my husband and I.  They were also good friends with him.

At least now I know where they are and I can contact them to do stuff.  They already sent me an e-mail.  It was so good to see my friend there because she really is an awesome person.

The owner of the clinic really likes my friend and she has already hired another one of her friends.  The guy that I talked to said he would probably talk to me for a second interview since my friend works there and the doctor likes her.   :)

The place seems like a really great place with good pay and great benefits.  They even have a fitness plan.

Also, today I had a great time seeing all sorts of old friends because I was a volunteer at the Hoosier Horse Fair.  I got to see all sorts of people that I have known for years and years.  It was really cool to see all of the different horse stuff, too. :)

Re: Something positive Stephanie04: Joles, I'm happy for you that things seem to be getting better for you!  Congratulations on your interview....one hour? Whew!
I'm also glad you posted a "something positive" thread.  I feel grateful for so many things too!  Ojar included.
That's so great that you're reconnecting with old friends!
