Now, I think you are within your right to casually text him. I like that idea. It doesn't put anyone on the spot. He said he'd call you, but did not give a timeframe. So you can just do a 'hi, what's up' thing. If he doesn't reply in a day or son, then choke it up to a one nighter.

I know it's silly but he may be thinking that he's the one who initiated contact on Sunday so now it's your turn. If I were in your shoes, I'd send him a text tonight. Just a simple...."hey, how's your week going?" or maybe more direct "would you like to get together some time this weekend?" Seriously, what could it hurt? If you don't contact him, he may think that you're not interested since he ended the last "conversation" with mentioning that he'd like to see you again. Take a chance!!
