Re:This is love... disavowed: Touching story. Makes you realize that even if that kind of love doesn't exist anymore, it WAS at one time.
A few weeks ago, I went to the beach to watch the sunset. Trying to ignore the many couples huddled close on their blankets, I kneeled down to pick up some shells. A man said to me "pick a good one, now", and, as I looked up, strolling past me was an elderly man and his wife, they were arm in arm, supporting each other with their canes in one hand and their free hands intertwined.....making their way toward the sunset with the wind at their backs.
All I could muster was a soft, "I'll try".
It's a good thing that the waves were breaking that night, b/c I cried until the sun went down. :(
