The morning I went to court I got my kids ready for school and put on a suit, this was the day I was dreading for so long. I was just on auto-pilot. After I dropped my kids at school I headed to court. I lasted about 10 minutes. I couldn't even look at her. We both walked out without saying a word. She was about 20 feet behind me as we left.
Then I realized that the day I dreaded wasn't that bad just for the fact that the state didn't marry us, hers and mine emotions maried us. And they didn't divorce us. Her emotions did. And that happened long before that dreaded date.
Atleast in my case this is what I felt after it was alll over. And I looked at it like this, there was no reason just because those papers were signed that we still couldn't make amends or realize some sort of relationship even romantic or marriage again.
If that would be the case new papers would be signed that would bring us back together.
I think the dreading of that day is far worse than the actual day itself.
Hang in there we all survive it and will be thinking of you guy who are dreading monday.
