Sex vs. intimacy/love rebeccal: My friend referred me here because I am newly divorced and confused about some feelings I'm having. I have only recently started dating in a physical sort of way (still no real sex yet) and I'm wondering if what I'm looking for is sex or love. I want to have sex without a serious relationship, but I am finding it difficult if not impossible to separate the two. HELP! :-/

But what is important is, don't give it away for free! Make sure that you are being treated with R_E_S_P_E_C_T, and that the other person understands that you need time to explore new relationships.

I like that answer. But it's hard to know if I'm being treated respectfully if I'm just having sex with someone! Oh, wait...I guess that's the point. There has to be MORE than just sex!

Sometimes in a really great relationship you can never seperate the two. I think that being confused is a sign that you are probably looking for love. They are both things that we are all looking for at some point.
I don't know if this is right but I think that maybe sex is being horny and libido, and love is caring and intimacy and so much more. Love is what can make sex even better.
That doesn't mean that you can get some satisfaction and go have some fun. Just be safe and be sure you know where you both stand.
Re: Sex vs. intimacy/love efem: You need to be careful that you don't give it up too easy. It's pretty much your call whether you have sex or not. Most guys are willing to engage, but the woman runs the show in that department.
If you feel comfortable with the person you're with then you should be fine, but just take precautions and make sure he's not using you just for that. It's hard to tell, but that's the game that's played.
