my son's diagnosis
Jasmine23s: Some of you may remember that I suspected my son had ADHD. Well, 3 weeks ago I brought him in for an evaluation. He does not have ADHD, ODD or COBP. However, I do not have a "normal" little boy. My son has Pervasive Development Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS). It is an autism spectrum disorder and is commonly referred to as either high functioning autism or atypical autism. He also has enuresis (involuntary wetting). The dr said there are no physical abnormalities, so it is a result of the autism. He will be going to a pediatric urology specialist. They will also be treating him for hyperactivity and he will be going on a glutin free caesin free diet. Gluten and Caesin are toxins to the autistic brain and it literally drugs them. So, I'm in shock right now. However, I met an absolute angel. I met a guy through a friend that had just moved here from SC. He had no place to stay, so my mom offered him to move in. He has family that is handicapped and he has pulled me through this. He's been with me every step of the way and refuses to allow me to dwell on the diagnosis. So, that's the latest on this end. Hope ya'll are well.Re: my son's diagnosis
I'm really touched by your post and wanted to just let you know that even though I don't know you my heart just reaches out to you...
I am not a very religious person but I do believe that God does not place upon us things we cannot handle and that you and your son will get through this together. I am glad you found that special friend to help you through this... he must really be a Godsend to you.
