strange... Druid13: when I dropped off my duaghter yesterday....my ex's new husband was driving in front of us...as I pulled up to their house my Father and Mother in laws were there....they basically swarmed me to see how I was....I spoke with my father in law for about 20 mins...my Mother in Law hugged me gave me a kiss on the cheek and wished me a Happy New Year....I hate to admit it but it was really nice to see them act this way towards me. I did not see my ex at all.....and I kissed my daughter good bye....it was a strange unexpected moment.
Re:strange... jjbswest: my father in law said "I'm not gonna make excuses for my son but i love you and the kids and i don't want to lose contact with you." my mother in law (can't wait until she's the ex.) will tell me what she thinks i want to hear and then be different about me behind me back.
Re:strange... hardened_heart1970: must be nice to have inlaws that somewhat care. my inlaws dont care about nothing. their kids, me, my kids.
my kids are 7.5 and 2.5 and they do not even own a sippy cup, toy or playpen. its weird....
Re:strange... RecoveringinDE: Druid, that's great! I'm glad that they felt they could do that.
My stbxil's are great. My mil will tell me what is on her mind and isn't afraid to do so. She seemed a little nervous when she found out my ex and I were divorcing. I told her not to dare change. I would never allow their connection with my daughter to be severed. And that I would be furious if I thought she was telling me what she thought I wanted to hear. So, our relationship hasn't changed too much. Just spent the New Year with them and it was great.
