LONG story, but will condense. Married in 2003, two weeks later, husband's ex filed for custody/official support. Awarded joint legal/she got physical. He got LOTS of support, retro-active to when she filed, gave him an almost 3,000.00 arrears right away.
He's been paying support & arrears every month, this is his 2nd case in MI, so they can disperse the $ how they want. Makes it look like he isn't paying.
Before THanksgiving, she called CPS & reported that we were letting our 3 boys knowingly participate in sexual activities (they are 10, 8 & 5). CPS has said we "failed to protect" my step-son. Concilliation hearing: She wants FULL custody, more money & supervised visits with HER family. She also wants us to attend 3 months parenting classes, and therapy. This is what concilliator recommended, EX filed an ex-parte order making this a fact, until the referee hearing, which we don't have a chance of winning. The boys DID tell us about some sexual activity between them on that weekend, and we immediately took action, but it doesn't matter, we're being accused of letting it happen, and knowing WAY before that about it. We're in Michigan.
Anyone know if we have a shot of getting supervised visitation with someone other than HER mom & dad? And if so, that it's not going to cost us more than what we're already paying out? HELP!!!!??????

I used to live in Michigan and had problems with CPS myself. First I feel for you, they are crooked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Be lucky if they do not palce your kids in foster care. Where in Michigan do you live?

:o We have a similar situation but it doesn't involve CPS. In CA they don't mess around. If they wanted your kids they would have removed them already if they felt the kid s were in any danger. Hang in there! I married in May 26, 2000 and we saw our 1st TRO 3 weeks later. She tried to keep the children from us, also she thought she'd get more CS.
Anyways, I have an 19Boy-17Girl-10Boy-8Boy and if anything ever happened like that while in OUR care and she heard about it, we'd be in the same sit. So my prayers are w/you. ;)
Get a good Attorney. Research your rights and FIGHT for the step-kids. They are hearing the worst from her but your LOVE for the kids WILL see you through. :-* It's been 6 years, I know better. Remember to play FAIR and the good guy always wins!! :D
Talk with a good lawyer who believes in the same thing you do. ;D Good luck!
Re:Back CS/Arears - If paid by cash - your screwed , she'll never cop to receiving it. Always pay via check and write down everything in a journal. TODAY start a calendar with events, good/bad ~ You can use it in court. ;) Be specific and direct. Again! Good Luck.
