Signed the papers today...want to share CoryL: Well Ladies and Gentlemen, everything has been signed, no objections were made, and in two weeks or so it will be official.
I had a mixed day. Overall it was pretty upbeat. No tears until about 8pm when I wept some tears of happiness. I feel good about this. I left the lawyers office and went to the park. Grabbed my notebook and wrote a poem.
It will sound strange to many of you beginning this process, but I thanked my ex. I wanted her to know that even if I knew this outcome would happen, I still wouldn't change anything. I learned so much from her about me and about what I need in a relationship. The last five years were the best five years of my life. Now I get a chance to start over with what I have learned. I am a better person now.
So for all of you going through the sad, bitter, angry, or hopeless times, try to find the good in what you are enduring. Find something good in everything every day. Wake up in the morning and choose to have a good attitude. You will feel so much better in the end if you approach this with a positive attitude. It sounds hard, and it is, but it is worth it.
Check out the poem I wrote today if you wish. It is one of hope after going through some trenches.
Thank you to those who have been keeping tabs on me the last few days: Dani and Katie. It is appreciated greatly.
If things can get better for me, they can get better for you. Keep your heads up so you can see the road ahead.
Cory
Re:Signed the papers today...want to share down south xhubbie: this is a great post and should give others hope.
It's the second time I've seen something like this in the past 2 days on here.
When my divorce was officially over, I had the same experience. Instead of feeling grief, I felt relieved that it was finally over.
I've enjoyed your poems.
Your post should help others who are not as far along as yourself.

I love your attitude! We need more of that here! You hang in there and keep your head up...but you don't need me to tell you that...you are doing just fine! :D
You are a better person now...look at you! You are an ispiration here.
You give me hope!
I will definately check out your poem and print it and of course add it to my book of "Cory L's Book of Poetry"... ;)
Wishing you all the best in life!

Re:Signed the papers today...want to share OldSchool: Cory,
I'm amazed to be honest that you feel this way right now. It's great, and it took me a long time to get to where you're already at. I know the feeling of thanking the ex for the times spent together. I wouldn't change anything in my life. I did for a while I feel my 10 years with her were just a waste, but that changed after many days and nights of reflection.
I just wanted to wish you the best, and you do have a gift and a skill of writing your thoughts.
cheers,
OS
Re:Signed the papers today...want to share ChristyM: Cory-
I don't really have too much to add. You've figured out that having a positive attitude will get you much farther than being bitter and angry (although those moments have a tendency to sneak in there once in awhile :))
We are all better people -- we just have to believe it.
Christy
*Thanks for posting -- I always love your posts -- very well written and thoughtful*
