alone alone alone justmenow: So, I got a taste of what it's like to be truly alone tonight. I dropped a 4x4 piece of wood weighing about 20 pounds on my toes tonight. Of course I wasn't wearing any shoes either, so guess who was responsible for getting me to the emergency room? me.
Don't worry, I'm home 2.5 hours later (...and probably about $750 poorer) with no broken bones but two stitches in my toe (lovely) and nobody greeted me at the door but my dog. Thanks, puppy, I'm just fine. Thanks for asking. Thanks for caring.
Well, I'd better go get the icepack now because who ELSE is going to get it for me? My dog is smart, but not that smart. :'(
Re: alone alone alone achingallover: I am so sorry just me. Sorry about the incident all together - OUCH!! And sorry there was no one there to help you in that moment. I know I would be feeling the same way as you. There are so many totally unexpected firsts to this whole divorce thing. I went to a dinner party the other night and there were 2 chairs for one couple, 2 chairs for another, and one single chair for me. I thought I was going to throw up! I got home and immediately fell to the floor and cried for 2 hours or so. I hate the unexpected firsts. I wish you could see them coming so you could some how prepair yourself - but unfortuantley we can't. But I'm here listening and I know there's lots of other folks here listening and we care. I care. I hope your foot feels better soon. And one good thing - the puppy loves you! My kitties are my children! They have been HUGE support during this time. Love your puppy! Sounds like he/she loves you. Sorry you had such a nasty day.

I still have a fear of hospitals just bc of his mouth! Look at this experience as.. yes it su**s but you know what? YOU DID get yourself there & home.. YOu didn't need his sorry a**, sure it would have been nice to have "SOMEONE" to take you.. but not so nice if it would have had to been your ex. YOU go girl for taking care of yourself and rest up! Kick back & have one of those famous margaritas!
