He's always losing his job!!~!!

He's always losing his job!!~!! Debbisea: I am in the middle a long drawnout divorce. :o

The man that I am divorcing is losing his job again.

He tells me this one week from mediation. I feel like it is a scare tactic. He tells me I will have to sell the house, uproot my children.

Any advice. Is this a fact? Don't judges see when people do this? He is perfectly capable of getting a job relatively equivalent to his current position.

It causes me so much anxiety. What do you think the chances are a judge will buy his unemployment? Should I be fearful. My lawyer said to relax.

I don't know who to trust.

My ex even goes as far as telling me that the mediator tells him not to offer me certain things because she thinks it is too much? Are they allowed to do that? ???
Re:He's always losing his job!!~!! LettinGo: Debbi,

I am a FT working mom, but my STBX losing his job is my WORST nightmare because if I were to lose child support, I wouldn't be able to swing my mortgage payment. He is irresponsible, so I think about this constantly!

As far as mediators go, yes, they actually are there to discuss the BEST outcome for BOTH parties. When we discussed child support with our mediator, my STBX was offering a little extra per month (so that I would be able to better afford keeping the house that we bought less than a year earlier, and it was only $50 extra!), and the mediator kept saying, "But, you understand that you are only legally obligated to pay such and such amount." like she was trying to talk him out of it! I wanted to gouge her eyes out!! ;D J/K ... sorta ... lol

The good thing is you have an attorney. I *KNOW* this is easier said than done, but try and relax and let the attorney handle it. Just because he lost his job, he is not going to get out of paying child support - it will eventually catch up with him. He isn't/can't stay unemployed forever.

I know "eventually" doesn't pay the bills though ... let us know how this turns out.

Hugs, Kelly
