Do you still believe in love?
.

Do you still believe in love? Cizzler: Do you think it's possible to get over the hurt and the mistrust, and actually truly love again? Or will parts of us always be on guard never wanting to be hurt in that way ever again?
Re:Do you still believe in love? allmixedup: Love is a wonderful thing and I would hate to think of a life where I never felt it again. So yes. Nobody wants to get hurt again, but I'd take that chance. I figure it this way. You either take the chance of being hurt again and possibly find something wonderful, or you live a long lonely life. Not a hard choice for me. 8) ???

Re:Do you still believe in love? lemondrop: Yes I still believe in love.

But I expect the way that I will love again will be much different than it was the first time around.

It's like this. You find an animal that's been beaten by a horrible previous owner. You take that animal in to your home and you love it unconditionally and you shower it with goodness. Will it love you back? Yep. But will it ever forget what it went through before it met you? Nope. So will it ever be able to trust you 100%. Not really. Even though it may love you 100%, the trust factor will be diminished based on what it's learned before it ever met you.

I think that's what love will be like for me in the future. I'll be that dog that got the crap kicked out of it by it's mean old nasty first owner... but I'll be wagging my tail and doing tricks again for someone that's good to me some day...

Don't know if that makes any sense or not but it's how I'm looking at things...

Bow wow,

Re:Do you still believe in love? soTiredOfHurting: Yes I do. Love didn't go wrong with my situation, just my choice of who to give it to. My love didn't fail me, the person that I gave that gift to did. Love will go on, I will just make a wiser choice in the future of who to give that gift to. That also means that I will take the risk of being hurt again, but it comes with the territory.
Re:Do you still believe in love? tyrogers: Yes, you will be able to love again and yes those parts of you not wanting to be hurt will still be there. You have to learn from the past. You have to realize that even though love can hurt.........it is SO worth it. Never block your heart to the passion and excitement that love can bring. You cannot live your life wondering "when is this going to end"? You know what I mean? Just learn from the hurt. The best thing to learn from the hurt is that you WILL heal and you WILL love again. Just enjoy it when you find it.
